Why is Elena DelleDonne subjected to nasty comments?

Can we just stop taking shots online about Elena DelleDonne? 

DelleDonne scored 32 points and led the Ursuline past Brandywine 64-40 Saturday afternoon at the Carpenter Center. St. Elizabeth got 20 points from Joy Rutland and rolled to a 64-28 victory over Archmere. Both teams advanced to the semifinals Wednesday at the Carpenter Center where Ursuline will play Sanford at 6:30 p.m. and St. E will take on Hodgson after the first game.

The amazing thing is reading all the shots that people take at DelleDonne on delawareonline. I understand that she’s received tons of attention over her career and that obviously makes a lot of people not like her. Jealousy?

But, come on, she’s been unbelievable. It really is sad that people rip her because they don’t like her because of the attention (I can guarantee you that most of those people have never met her) or to just get a rise out of the people that want to defend her.

Seriously, people that rip teenagers in a public forum are nuts.

Ciarrocca gone, Ginn takes over

What does Kirk Ciarrocca’s depature mean for the University of Delaware football program?

Ciarrocca has been with the Blue Hens all six years that K.C. Keeler has been in Newark. During that time the Hens have made the playoffs three times and won the 2003 national championship.

This past year Delaware averaged 34 points per game on its way to the national title game.

Brian Ginn has been named the new offensive coordinator. Ginn was a quarterback at Delaware and has been on the staff for the past eight years. Most of the reaction has been positive as people think the continuity will be a plus.

 If you take Ciarrocca’s whole body of work – he’s been very successful. Hopefully, Ginn will be able to continue what Ciarrocca started.
